US First Lady Melania Trump has assisted in reuniting a fifth group of Ukrainian children with their families.
The effort secured the return of five children to their home communities, according to a statement from the White House on July 30.

Specific details regarding the ages and origins of the children were not released.
The First Lady remarked, “While diplomacy and peacebuilding are important to this effort, they are surpassed by our collective ability to place children above international disputes. Every reunion is a reminder that compassion, dignity, and family can transcend even the darkest of times: war.”
Melania Trump stated that her office and designated representative maintain ongoing communication with officials in Ukraine and Russia to facilitate these family reunions.
The initiative follows statements made by the First Lady in October 2025 regarding an open communication channel with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

That contact was established after a response to a letter she sent concerning children affected by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in August.
US First Lady Melania Trump helped return five children from Ukraine and Russia to their families in a fifth successful repatriation effort.
According to Bring Kids Back UA , 2,414 children have been returned to Ukraine so far, while 1.6 million remain under Russian control.
In December 2025, seven Ukrainian children were successfully brought back home from Russia with the assistance of US First Lady Melania Trump. According to a White House statement, six boys and one girl were reunited with their families in Ukraine.
Melania Trump commended the diplomacy between Russia and Ukraine, noting that their cooperation had created a collaborative environment for the safe return of children.
She also expressed hope that these humanitarian efforts would eventually lead to broader regional stability.
