Ukrainian Drones Strike Wildberries Logistics Hubs in Penza and Udmurtia

Ukrainian drones launched overnight and morning strikes against major distribution centers belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s largest e-commerce platform, targeting key logistics facilities in Penza and Udmurtia regions, The Moscow Times reported on July 30.

The overnight attack in the Penza region struck a 90,000-square-meter regional distribution hub serving the Volga Federal District, injuring one person and forcing the evacuation of approximately 200 workers.

Penza Governor Oleg Melnichenko stated that emergency crews battled open flames at the site, while Wildberries confirmed it temporarily halted operations and rerouted supply chains.

In a separate morning strike on Sarapul, Udmurtia, drones hit a 50,000-square-meter facility, igniting a fire after staff had been evacuated without casualties, according to regional authorities and company representatives cited by The Moscow Times.

These latest strikes mark the 14th and 15th Wildberries distribution centers targeted since Ukrainian forces initiated a focused campaign against the retailer’s logistics network on July 18.

Prior analysis indicated that drone strikes had already disabled more than 15 percent of Wildberries' total warehouse space—exceeding 860,000 square meters—with the largest single loss occurring at a 250,000-square-meter complex in Elektrostal, Moscow region, where one employee died, according to The Moscow Times.

Another major attack on July 29 severely damaged a 170,000-square-meter facility in Ryazan, though several other strikes in locations such as Voronezh and Yekaterinburg failed to ignite fires.

In an effort to shield its supply chain from strikes, Wildberries has reportedly begun searching for 100,000 square meters of warehouse space in neighboring Kazakhstan to relocate part of its operations beyond the reach of Ukrainian drones.
