Moscow Region Burns After Long-Range Drones Strike Factory and Major Warehouse

Ukrainian drones attacked multiple sites across Russia’s Moscow region, igniting fires at an industrial plant in Chekhov and a logistics warehouse near Koledino, according to footage published by OSINT channel Exilenova+ on July 28.

One drone reportedly came down on the grounds of an industrial facility in Chekhov. Russian outlet Astra reported that preliminary information indicated the fire broke out at the Chekhov Regeneration Plant.

The facility processes used vehicle tires and manufactures reclaimed rubber, rubber granules, rubber powder, and a wide range of industrial rubber products.

The company describes itself as one of Russia’s largest producers in the sector and says it manufactures more than 600 types of rubber goods in addition to its tire-recycling products.

Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov acknowledged the incident, saying that falling drone debris caused tires stored in an outdoor area to catch fire.

Drones also struck warehouse facilities near Koledino outside Moscow. Videos filmed by local residents showed thick black smoke billowing above the site.

Preliminary reports identified the burning facility as a warehouse operated by a third-party logistics company responsible for receiving goods, storing inventory, assembling orders, packaging and labeling shipments, and distributing them to other warehouses.

Eyewitness footage suggested that Ukraine may have used FP-1 long-range strike drones and a Shahed-like UAV, possibly the Ukrainian Sichen system, during the attack.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed Russian air defenses had intercepted at least 81 drones flying toward the capital. Despite those claims, fires were recorded at both the Chekhov industrial facility and the Koledino warehouse site.

Previously, the Russian marketplace Wildberries disabled its “Everything for the SMO ” product tag following a series of Ukrainian drone strikes on its logistics hubs, even as military-related goods remained on sale through other war-themed tags on the platform.
