Ukraine’s Drones Reach 1,300 Km Into Russia, Targeting Strategic Fuel Reserve in Udmurtia

Ukrainian drones reached Russia’s Udmurtia region on the morning of July 27, reportedly targeting a heavily guarded strategic fuel reserve approximately 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed Ukrainian strikes against oil facilities in Udmurtia and Russia’s Yaroslavl region.

“The long-range sanctions plan is being carried out, and we are reducing Russia’s ability to finance the war,” Zelenskyy said.

Udmurtia’s regional head, Alexander Brechalov, described the incident as the region’s “most massive” drone attack in recent months. He said no casualties had been reported.

Russian media outlet Astra analyzed eyewitness footage and identified the apparent target as Rosrezerv’s Prioritet facility, formerly known as Gorizont, in the settlement of Borok in Udmurtia’s Kambarsky district.

The closed strategic facility functions as an oil depot and is protected by armed security. It is designed for the long-term storage of fuel, petroleum products, and lubricants intended for emergencies and military requirements.

Authorities issued a “Dangerous Sky” alert in Udmurtia at around 5:30 am because of the aerial threat. Izhevsk Airport temporarily suspended operations, while public transportation in the city was also halted.

Workers at a Wildberries sorting center and logistics complex in Sarapul were evacuated during the attack. The company said the measures were taken “in accordance with safety requirements,” with no damage reported.

Notices on the company’s seller platform said warehouses in Sarapul and Izhevsk had temporarily stopped accepting goods. Wildberries said it would announce when operations resumed.

Earlier, Ukrainian long-range drones struck the Tyumen Oil Refinery in western Siberia, reaching a target located nearly 2,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Videos circulating online showed a fire at the facility, while Russian regional authorities confirmed that a drone had crashed on the refinery’s grounds.
