Ukraine Knocks Out Russian Drone Control Relay and Energy Site in Occupied Crimea

Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes against Russian military and military-economic targets overnight on July 26, hitting a Chornomornaftogaz facility and a ground relay station used to control attack drones in temporarily occupied Crimea, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 26.

The General Staff also confirmed the results of a previous long-range strike on Russia’s Tyumen oil refinery, describing the facility as a key fuel supplier supporting Russia’s military-industrial sector.

According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces struck a Chornomornaftogaz site near the village of Vnukove in temporarily occupied Crimea. The military reported that the target was successfully hit.
The General Staff said that since Russia’s occupation of Crimea in 2014, the seized Chornomornaftogaz infrastructure has been used not only for the extraction, storage, and transportation of natural gas and petroleum products but also to support the energy needs of Russian forces stationed on the peninsula.
Ukraine also targeted a ground-based relay station used to control Geran and Gerbera attack drones near Chornomorske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

According to the General Staff, such relay stations extend the operational range of Russian drones while improving the stability and reliability of command links during attacks on Ukraine.
In addition to the strikes in Crimea, Ukrainian forces hit a road bridge near Vyselky in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region that, according to the military, is used by Russian forces for logistics.
The General Staff also reported strikes on a Russian drone storage site near Chervonopopivka and on an area where Russian personnel were concentrated near Purdivka in occupied Luhansk region.
The military simultaneously released updated assessments of previous long-range strikes conducted on July 25, confirming that Ukraine had successfully hit the Tyumen Oil Refinery in western Siberia.

According to the General Staff, the refinery has an annual processing capacity of approximately seven million metric tons of crude oil. It produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, fuel oil, and other petroleum products used, among other purposes, to supply Russia’s military-industrial complex and armed forces.
Earlier, Ukrainian long-range drones reached Russia’s Yekaterinburg, approximately 1,750 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, where a fire broke out near a Wildberries logistics hub. Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces commander, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, later said Ukrainian drones had struck six Wildberries logistics facilities across Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea.
