Australian Band breathe. Uses Photo From Kyiv Concert as Cover for Second Album

Australian band breathe. performed this summer at the Atlas Festival in Kyiv, where a photograph taken during their set was later selected as the cover of their second album.

The band announced the decision via Instagram on August 7.

“This photograph was taken in Kyiv, Ukraine during one of the most emotional moments we’ve ever experienced on stage. To us, this photo perfectly captures what album 2 has become. We see so much humanity, hope, sadness, strength and love on her face,” the musicians said.

According to the group, the songs featured on the upcoming album are intended to evoke emotions, reflect on what it means to be human, and explore how people can reconnect with one another when the “world sometimes feels like it’s falling apart.”

“We wanted this album cover to be a reminder that behind every headline, every post, every statistic, there is a person who feels as deeply as we do,” the musicians added.

The photograph was taken by Ukrainian photographer Tetyana Horbatiuk and captures a moment from breathe.’s performance at the Kyiv festival.

Horbatiuk has also been named a shortlist finalist in the Portrait category of the Abbey Road Music Photography Awards 2026, with her photograph of Dnipro-based band Fuji Moodji, Suspilne Culture reported on August 7.

The photographer told the outlet that she initially did not realize she had made the shortlist. Having submitted her entry only hours before the deadline, she assumed the email was simply confirming her participation or thanking her for submitting the photograph.
