“From attending the BAFTA Games Awards as a nominee with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 to becoming a full BAFTA member. A very special moment for which I am truly grateful! Thank you!” she wrote.

Their membership marks a new milestone for the Ukrainian studio behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which previously received a nomination at the BAFTA Games Awards.

As BAFTA members, Maria and Yevhen Grygorovych will be eligible to vote for winners of future BAFTA Games Awards and participate in the academy’s internal programs supporting the video game industry.

Their membership follows international recognition of the studio’s latest title, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which received a nomination at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards.

The Ukrainian-developed game was shortlisted in the Game Beyond Entertainment category, which recognizes titles that make a meaningful social, cultural, or educational impact beyond traditional entertainment.

Beyond its achievements in the gaming industry, GSC Game World has also been involved in initiatives supporting Ukraine amid Russia’s full-scale invasion.

On September 11, the studio partnered with Ukraine’s UNITED24 fundraising platform to launch an exclusive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 giveaway, aiming to raise $100,000 for humanitarian demining efforts in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

The initiative supports UNITED24’s Humanitarian Demining program, which provides Ukrainian demining specialists with equipment to clear Russian mines and other explosive remnants of war from liberated territories.
