Servicemembers of the Ronin unmanned systems battalion of Ukraine’s 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade said they found a hangar sheltering five Russian armored vehicles and set it ablaze with FPV drones, according to Militarnyi on December 14.

In its Telegram post, the unit wrote: “Our pilots found a hangar with Russian equipment and dismantled it without unnecessary ceremony. What was supposed to go against ours was left a pile of metal.”

The unit did not say where the strike took place, but Militarnyi noted the Ronins operate on the Zaporizhzhia front.

Footage published by the unit showed a fiber-optic drone locating the hangar, which contained vehicles, including tanks and a BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, and was protected by heavy cage-style “grills” and multiple electronic warfare systems.

It stated that the hangar was then struck by at least seven FPV drones, triggering a fire inside.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine’s unmanned systems from the 65th Mechanized Brigade used FPV drones to strike and disable a Russian fuel train in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, disrupting a key supply line to Crimea.
