The operation, carried out jointly with units of the State Border Guard Service and other components of the Defense Forces, disrupted railway traffic through the station.
As a result, the supply of ammunition and personnel to Russian forces on temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine was interrupted.
According to intelligence assessments, Liski station functions as a critical logistics hub for the Russian military, ensuring transport links to forces deployed in Ukraine. Following the strike, Russia’s Federal Passenger Company reported delays to at least 14 trains, Russian outlet Astra wrote.
Ukrainian intelligence emphasized that the Liski hub plays an important role in sustaining Russian troop groupings on occupied territory, making its disruption strategically significant.
Earlier, on August 16, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence struck an ammunition depot and Russian personnel in occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. The explosion in the city’s industrial zone destroyed a warehouse and triggered secondary detonations, killing at least six Russian troops, including members of the “Akhmat-Vostok” battalion.
Melitopol, a key logistics hub linking occupied territories with Crimea, has been a frequent target of Ukrainian operations aimed at disrupting Russian supply routes.
