Biker Steps In to Save Disabled Ukrainian Combat Robot Near the Front Line, Video

A civilian in the front-line town of Kostyantynivka unexpectedly came to the aid of Ukrainian soldiers after their ground robot lost a track, the chief sergeant of the 4th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade’s UAV company, Volodymyr Illiushchenko, Ukrainian channel Army TV on October 16.
Footage released by the channel shows a man on a bicycle stopping next to the disabled robot and immediately getting to work.

“We were making a delivery to our mortar crews, and on the way back, the ground robotic complex had a small technical issue—the track snapped. Just then, a local man riding by on a bicycle decided to help,” Illiushchenko said.
Thanks to the man’s quick thinking, the machine was able to move to a safer area, where an evacuation team later recovered it for repairs.

Earlier, Ukrainian technology company IXIAN introduced a new robotic recovery and engineering system designed to operate in high-risk combat zones.
The platform, based on IXIAN’s existing Terrikon-X unmanned vehicle, has been reconfigured to perform heavy-duty field engineering tasks remotely. The company says the new variant features a precision manipulator arm capable of lifting, clearing debris, and recovering damaged vehicles—all without exposing personnel to danger.
