Blast in Occupied Melitopol Wipes Out Russian Troops and Satellite Command Post

A targeted explosion struck a Russian military facility in occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, reportedly killing five members of the Russian National Guard and destroying a key satellite command station, according to the Defense Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of Ukraine on July 11.
HUR wrote that the blast occurred at an industrial site that Russian forces had converted into a logistics hub, complete with barracks and military vehicle storage. The operation was carried out jointly by Ukrainian intelligence and local resistance forces.

“The detonation occurred while the occupiers were casually unloading military transport vehicles,” HUR said in a statement. “Five invaders from the so-called Russian National Guard were eliminated.”
Also destroyed in the strike was a Russian satellite communications terminal, which commanders reportedly intended to use for controlling occupation forces in the region.

Melitopol, located in southern Ukraine near the Sea of Azov, has long been a hub of partisan resistance activity and Ukrainian deep-strike operations targeting Russian military infrastructure behind the front lines.
Earlier, a series of explosions near Vladivostok in Russia’s Far East damaged key infrastructure supporting the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade of the Russian Pacific Fleet.
