Three Ukrainian children have been successfully returned from Russia and the temporarily occupied territories and are now reunited with their families.

This was announced by Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine on July 30.

Yermak stated that, as part of President Zelenskyy's Bring Kids Back UA initiative, three more Ukrainian children had been rescued from temporarily occupied territories and from Russia.

According to him, two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, resisted ongoing pressure and threats from the occupying forces. They refused to attend Russian schools and continued to study online in a Ukrainian school in secret, putting their safety at risk.

“We also brought back an 8-year-old girl who had been in Russia for several years. After a long separation, she is finally reunited with her family. I thank the Helping to Leave team for their assistance in rescuing the children,” Yermak added.

This operation follows a series of similar efforts. On July 19, Yermak reported that 11 children aged between 10 and 17 had been returned from temprary occupied territories and the Russian Federation.

Just a day earlier, on July 18, another group of teenagers was rescued under the same presidential initiative.

According to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, these children had become targets of Russian special services for refusing to comply with the Russian rules. Some were persecuted, searched, interrogated, and even tortured. One boy was pressured simply for declining to attend a Russian school. The youngest child in that group was only three years old—yet even she faced abuse for speaking Ukrainian.

Previosly, it was reported that Russia began conscripting Ukrainian children—many of whom were abducted from temporary occupied territories—into its armed forces once they reach the age of 18.
