Ukrainian Children Rescued From Russian-Controlled Territories in Latest Bring Kids Back UA Mission

Under President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's initiative Bring Kids Back UA, another group of teenagers has been rescued from the temporarily occupied territories.
The announcement was made by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak via Telegram on July 18.
According to Yermak, these children became targets of Russian special services because they refused to comply with the rules imposed by the occupiers. They were persecuted, searched, interrogated, and tortured.
One of the boys faced pressure simply because he did not want to attend a Russian school. The youngest child in the group is only three years old — yet even she suffered abuse just for speaking the Ukrainian language.

All the rescued children are now safe. Yermak thanked the Save Ukraine team for their professional work and assistance in the rescue operation.
“We are fulfilling the President’s mission — to bring all our children home,” the head of the President’s Office emphasized.
Earlier, it was reported that since the start of its full-scale invasion, Russia has forcibly deported at least 20,000 Ukrainian children, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. So far, Ukraine has succeeded in bringing back only around 1,400 of them.
“At least 20,000 Ukrainian children were deported by Russia. Another 1.6 million children are currently living under Russian occupation. Every minute, more children are being taken,” she stated. “So far, we have managed to return 1,400 children. But this is just a fraction of the total.”
