Russian Attack Hits Sumy Shopping Mall, Leaving Three Dead and Two Injured

A Russian attack drone targeted the territory of the Manufactura shopping and entertainment center in Sumy, killing three people and injuring two others.

Authorities report that the casualties could increase as search and rescue operations continue. The strike was reported on Telegram by Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

"Regrettably, three deaths are currently confirmed as a result of the enemy drone attack on the territory of the shopping center in Sumy," Hryhorov said. "Two people have been injured. Information is being clarified. Emergency response operations are ongoing."

The blast damaged the shopping center building and set fire to multiple vehicles parked outside. Emergency services deployed to the scene to extinguish the blaze and clear debris.

Hryhorov warned local residents about the ongoing risk of follow-up strikes as rescue workers continue clearing the site. Regional officials noted that total details regarding the scene continue to be updated.

In broad daylight on August 21, 2026, Russian drones struck Kryvyi Rih’s largest shopping complex, killing 16 people and injuring at least 130 others, including 23 children.

The attack set off fires inside the commercial hub and heavily damaged the building while emergency services worked on scene. Emergency response operations and search efforts continued as firefighters extinguished the blazes and rescued survivors from the wreckage.
