Croatia to Send 60 Tanks and Infantry Fighting Vehicles to Ukraine by the End of 2024
Croatia is planning to send 30 of its M-84 tanks and 30 M-80 infantry fighting vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine this year, and in return will buy 50 new Leopard 2A8 tanks from Germany at a reduced price.
This was reported by Reuters, citing Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anušić statement after meeting with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius in Berlin on October 28.
With the acquisition of Leopard 2A8 tanks, Croatia could supply Ukraine with 30 battle tanks and 30 infantry fighting vehicles by the end of 2024, stated Defense Minister Ivan Anusic.
In the letter of intent, the two countries also agreed to supply spare parts and ammunition from Croatian stockpiles to Ukraine.
On October 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković signed an Agreement on Long-Term Support and Cooperation between their countries.
