Russian forces suffered significant losses over the past 24 hours, with approximately 1,100 troops killed, according to an update released by Ukraine’s General Staff on April 23.

Ukrainian forces also reported continued destruction of Russian military equipment across multiple categories. Over the past day, three tanks, five armored combat vehicles, and 58 artillery systems were eliminated. Additional losses included three multiple launch rocket systems and one air defense system.

Drone warfare remains a major factor on the battlefield, with Russia losing 1,941 operational-tactical UAVs in a single day, pushing the total number of destroyed drones to more than 253,000.

Ukrainian forces also reported the destruction of 202 vehicles and fuel tankers, along with two units of specialized equipment.

Overall, 159 combat engagements were recorded along the front line during the reporting period.

Russian forces continued large-scale strikes, launching 73 air attacks and dropping 234 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed more than 9,000 strike drones and carried out 3,231 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 52 using multiple launch rocket systems.

The figures highlight the sustained intensity of fighting across the front, as both sides continue high-tempo operations while Ukraine focuses on degrading Russia’s manpower and firepower capabilities.

Earlier, Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian positions in the Sumy region by moving through a gas pipeline near the village of Yablunivka, while simultaneously launching a diversionary assault using motorcycles.

The attempted infiltration ended with significant losses for Russian forces. Ukrainian troops reported 35 killed and 17 wounded, along with the destruction of three motorcycles and four all-terrain vehicles used in the assault.
