Daily Update: Russia Loses 790 Troops, One Warship and Six Air Defense Systems in One Day

Russia’s invading forces lost 790 personnel, one warship, and six air defense systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on March 3.

According to updated figures, Russia’s total combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, are estimated at:
Personnel: approximately 1,268,520 (+790);
Tanks: 11,718 (+5);
Armored combat vehicles: 24,131 (+20);
Artillery systems: 37,842 (+47);
Multiple launch rocket systems: 1,665 (no change);
Air defense systems: 1,319 (+6);
Aircraft: 435 (no change);
Helicopters: 348 (no change);
Operational-tactical UAVs: 154,698 (+1,529);
Cruise missiles: 4,384 (no change);
Warships/boats: 30 (+1);
Submarines: 2 (no change);
Vehicles and fuel tankers: 80,992 (+235);
Special equipment: 4,076 (no change).
The General Staff also reported 152 combat engagements across the front line in the past day.

The heaviest fighting took place in the Huliaipole direction, where 40 Russian attacks were recorded, followed by the Pokrovsk sector with 23 assaults and the Sloviansk direction with 13 engagements.
As of 8:00 a.m. on March 3, Ukrainian military officials reported that Russian forces carried out 84 airstrikes, dropping 282 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, Russian troops launched 8,437 suicide drones and conducted 3,645 shelling attacks against populated areas and Ukrainian positions, including 78 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems, according to the General Staff.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said Ukrainian forces had successfully endured what he described as a decisive “battle for winter,” outlining heavy Russian losses and battlefield developments.
According to Syrskyi, Ukrainian defenders not only withstood sustained Russian pressure during the winter campaign but also stabilized key sectors of the front and regained ground in several areas.
