Daily Update: Russia Loses 940 Troops and 58 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost an estimated 940 troops killed and wounded over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on the morning of April 6.

According to the latest figures, total Russian losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,304,490 personnel.

The General Staff also reported continued equipment losses across multiple categories. Russian forces are estimated to have lost 2 tanks and 10 armored combat vehicles over the same period, along with 58 artillery systems.

Drone losses remained particularly high, with 1,953 operational-tactical UAVs reportedly destroyed in a single day. In addition, Ukrainian forces recorded the destruction of 259 vehicles and fuel tankers.

The cumulative totals now include 11,841 tanks, 24,360 armored combat vehicles, and 39,497 artillery systems. Other losses include 1,719 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,338 air defense systems, 435 aircraft, and 350 helicopters.

Cruise missile losses stand at 4,517, while Russia has also lost 33 ships or boats and 2 submarines since the beginning of the invasion. The number of destroyed specialized equipment units has reached 4,112.

The General Staff also reported 120 combat engagements along the front line over the past day. The heaviest fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, where 25 clashes took place.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russian military losses in March reached the highest levels since the beginning of the war, with more than 35,000 confirmed casualties in just one month.

In a statement, Zelenskyy revealed that 33,988 Russian soldiers were either killed or severely wounded due to drone strikes alone. Additionally, 1,363 Russians were eliminated through artillery and other strikes.
