A wave of Russian drone attacks on the Kyiv region overnight killed three people and four injured, according to Mykola Kalashnyk, acting head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration on January 24.

Among the casualties were a 58-year-old man and his 59-year-old wife, who died in their home after debris from a downed drone caused a fire.

In another district, a 36-year-old man died in a damaged ten-story residential building.

The blast wave from the attacks damaged eight private houses and a store in one community, while in another, a family medicine clinic and two apartment buildings sustained significant damage. Vehicles parked nearby were also destroyed.

In the affected apartment building, approximately 150 residents were evacuated.

Four people sought medical assistance, including a 26-year-old man hospitalized with burns to his upper respiratory tract and a 38-year-old woman treated for acute stress.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the attack, clarifying that the damaged houses are located in Brovary and Hlevakha, Kyiv region.

“…there must be responsibility for every component for the production of Shaheds and missiles that are supplied in violation of sanctions. Russia would not be able to fight at all if the ability of Russian accomplices to assist this terror and assaults on the front was really limited,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

Ukraine’s Air Force confirmed that Russia launched 58 drones overnight, including Shahed-136 strike drones and other reconnaissance UAVs, targeting regions from Oryol, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk directions. The attacks hit Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Lviv regions.

By 9:30 am, Ukrainian forces reported shooting down 25 attack drones, while 27 decoy UAVs were lost due to Ukrainian electronic warfare.

Earlier, Zelenskyy reported that over the past week, Russian forces launched approximately 550 strike drones, nearly 60 missiles of various types, and more than 660 aerial bombs against Ukraine.
