Armed drones struck the Unecha linear production and dispatch station, part of the Druzhba pipeline network, Russian media outlet Astra reported on August 13.

The facility, located in the village of Vysokoye in Russia’s Unecha district, came under attack at around 22:00 on August 12, according to local residents. Satellite data from NASA confirmed a fire at the station, detecting the first hotspot at 22:30, with additional flare-ups at 03:00 and 04:24.

Unecha is one of the key hubs along the 5,500-kilometer Druzhba oil pipeline, operated by the Russian state-controlled Transnefteprodukt holding, which handles the maintenance and transportation of oil to European markets. The station lies just 50–60 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.

Astra noted this was not the first attack on the facility. On August 6, a drone strike caused a smaller fire, though NASA’s FIRMS  service did not register abnormal heat levels at the time—likely due to the limited scale of the blaze.

Previously, a Russian oil refinery in Saratov, owned by the state-controlled giant Rosneft, has halted crude oil intake after a drone attack on August 10, Bloomberg reported, citing an informed source.
