Drones Reach Ufa Refining Facilities, Striking Over 1,300 Kilometers From Front Line

Drones targeted Ufa city, with several shot down near the city’s oil refining facilities and two falling onto a residential construction site, according to various Russian media and local authorities on March 22.
Bashkiria head Radiy Khabirov reported that the attack unfolded in the area of Ufa’s refineries, a strategic industrial zone in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan.

The drones were reportedly headed toward Ufa’s northern industrial district, where major petrochemical facilities are located, including three Bashneft-owned oil refineries, according to the OSINT community Astra.

No further details were immediately provided on possible damage to refinery infrastructure.
“Drones were shot down in the area of Ufa’s oil refineries. Two of them fell onto a house under construction in the Zaton neighborhood,” Khabirov wrote on Telegram, adding that the injured workers received medical assistance on site.

The strike on Ufa also appeared to form part of a broader overnight wave targeting Russian fuel and industrial infrastructure.
The overnight strikes on March 14 hit several sites tied to Russia’s fuel and industrial infrastructure, with explosions reported at the Port of Kavkaz, an oil refinery, and a chemical plant. The attacks extended a pattern of deep strikes aimed at logistics nodes and facilities that support the Russian war effort.
The Port of Kavkaz has served as a critical hub for maritime and fuel movement in southern Russia, giving the strikes added operational and symbolic weight.
