Elon Musk Responds to Ukraine Over Blocking Starlink Use by Russian Forces

On January 30, Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX and owner of the satellite internet service Starlink, has publicly responded to a message from Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov, thanking him for addressing issues related to the use of Starlink terminals by Russian forces.
In a post on social media, Fedorov expressed gratitude to Musk for what he described as a swift response to the problem of so‑called “gray” Starlink terminals allegedly being used by Russian occupiers.
He also recalled that at the start of Russia’s full‑scale invasion, Musk provided Ukraine with a shipment of Starlink terminals—support that Fedorov said played a critical role in maintaining communications.

Musk reacted by reposting Fedorov’s message, adding a brief reply: “You’re most welcome.”
Starlink has been widely used in Ukraine since 2022 to support civilian and military communications amid repeated Russian attacks on infrastructure.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces have concentrated their efforts on targeting logistics along the Ukrainian logistics routes using Starlink-connected drones, with dozens of strikes reported over the course of a day.
