Russian Forces Use Starlink-Connected Drones to Target Ukraine’s Logistics Routes, Civilian Bus Hit

Russian forces have concentrated their efforts on targeting logistics along the Ukrainian logistics routes using Starlink-connected drones, with dozens of strikes reported over the course of a day, according to an advisor to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense and an expert in the field of military radio technologies, Serhii Flash, on January 30.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov had previously said the ministry had contacted SpaceX and proposed ways to address reports of Russian drones using Starlink connectivity over Ukrainian cities.

Among the attacks was one on a bus carrying civilians, but it resulted in no fatalities due to timely actions by the people.
Russia’s drone unit Rubikon even reported the strike against this bus on their publicly available channels, even though it is a war crime against Ukrainian civilians.

Serhii Flash noted that the strikes are part of the Russian ongoing strategy to disrupt supply lines, a classic tactic aimed at weakening Ukraine’s logistical capabilities.
In response, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has reacted swiftly, with Fedorov personally overseeing the situation, according to Serhii Flash.
The Ministry continues to address the growing threat posed by these logistics-focused strikes, with efforts to safeguard civilian and military infrastructure from further damage.
Previously, it was reported that Russian drones struck several Ukrainian cities overnight, setting off fires in Odesa and causing deaths and injuries in the Zaporizhzhia region. At the same time, shelling and drone attacks were also reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
