Russian Strikes Set Odesa Ablaze, Kill 3 in Zaporizhzhia and Hit Dnipropetrovsk Region

Russian drones struck several Ukrainian cities overnight, setting off fires in Odesa and causing deaths and injuries in the Zaporizhzhia region. At the same time, shelling and drone attacks were also reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to multiple Ukrainian officials and local media on January 29.
Ukraine’s state emergency service said the Odesa attack triggered a fire at an industrial site, with warehouse and production buildings burning and freight trucks damaged, and that there were no casualties.
The agency said firefighters had extinguished all blazes.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, regional governor Ivan Fedorov said three people were killed and 16 wounded in attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding district over the past day, adding that Russian forces carried out 841 strikes on 34 settlements, including airstrikes, drone attacks, multiple-launch rocket systems, and artillery.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, regional officials said Russian forces fired Grad rockets at the Nikopol district’s Chervonohryhorivka community and hit the Synelnykove district’s Mykolaivka community with drones, wounding two men, aged 43 and 33, and setting a culture center and a car on fire.
Earlier, it was reported that a Russian overnight attack on Odesa city wounded at least 23 people, including children and a pregnant woman, damaged hundreds of apartments and shattered windows in multiple districts, and left one person dead as rescue operations continued.
