On the evening of December 28 and into the night of December 29, explosions were reported across Russia, with Russian Telegram channels claiming that military targets came under attack, including the Khanskaya airbase in Maykop and the area around the city of Tula, where a possible ballistic threat was announced.

This was reported by Russian Telegram channels such as Astra and SHOT.

According to Astra, unidentified drones began attacking the city of Maykop in Russia’s Republic of Adygea shortly after 11:00 p.m. Later reports clarified that the likely target of the attack was the Khanskaya airbase.

The facility was reportedly targeted by drones. Videos circulated online that allegedly capture the sound of explosions in the Maykop area.

Around the same time, another video appeared on Telegram channels showing the sound of a drone in flight followed by an explosion. It was claimed that the footage was recorded in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, although the exact location has not been identified.

Several hours later, at around 3:00 a.m., the Russian Telegram channel SHOT reported a series of explosions in the city of Tula. Local residents said a missile alert was issued in the region and claimed they heard up to 14 explosions.

Earlier, Ukrainian drone units carried out a long-range strike on a major oil installation in Russia’s Samara region, hitting the Syzran Oil Refinery and damaging its sole primary refining unit, a critical component at one of the country’s largest diesel fuel producers.
