French and UK Military Chiefs Arrive in Kyiv for Contingent Deployment Talks

Meetings between representatives of France, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine on the potential deployment of a military contingent began today, April 4, in Kyiv, according to a diplomatic source who spoke with Suspilne.
The talks are being held at the level of military chiefs of staff. The French delegation is led by General Thierry Burkhard, while the British side is represented by Admiral Sir Tony Radakin.
Throughout the day, both delegations are scheduled to hold a series of meetings with Ukrainian military officials.
The delegations are also reportedly scheduled to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later today.
On April 1, Zelenskyy announced plans for an upcoming first meeting involving countries willing to consider deploying a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine.
In a statement delivered at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21, Zelenskyy emphasized the need for a significant peacekeeping force to safeguard Ukraine’s security and prevent a renewed Russian attack.
