German company ARX Robotics is incorporating Ukrainian-made turrets into its ground robotic systems, according to Militarnyi.

The announcement was made during the Defense Tech Innovation Forum, held on February 20, 2025, at the EXPO grounds in Kyiv, Ukraine.

GEREON RCS is a multi-purpose, tracked modular platform capable of carrying various payloads and combat loads up to 500 kilograms, with a range of up to 40 kilometers. The GEREON series includes four models: GEREON RCS, GEREON ATR, GEREON 3, and GEREON 2.

ARX Robotics recently opened a Ukrainian office to support the supply of ground-based drones to Ukraine’s Defense Forces, a project funded by the German government. The office’s primary role is to provide training for military operations, basic maintenance, and technical support for the ground drones.

ARX Robotics is also working to integrate Ukrainian-controlled combat modules into its platforms. “We are already working on integrating Ukrainian-made turrets into our platforms to expand the application of our robots,” according to the company’s CEO of the ARX Ukraine office, Igor Kornilov.

The platforms utilize three communication methods for control: the Silvus radio station, 4G or 5G networks, and Starlink.

Kornilov noted that the next phase will involve the localization of ARX Robotics’ ground robotic systems in Ukraine, including scaling up research and development efforts. Under the current agreement, the Ukrainian Defense Forces will receive 30 GEREON RCS multi-purpose tracked platforms, which will be used for logistics and casevac operations to evacuate the wounded.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Armed Forces destroyed a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system, the Ukrainian General Staff reported.
