German Defense Giant Rheinmetall Ready to Supply Peacekeeping Forces in Ukraine

Armin Papperger, CEO of German defense manufacturer Rheinmetall, stated that the company is prepared to contribute to a potential international peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, according to Deutsche Welle on March 12.
While emphasizing that discussions remain theoretical at this stage, Papperger noted that Rheinmetall could offer “over 2,000 items” to support such an initiative.
He cited the example of Rheinmetall’s supply role for the German tank brigade being deployed in Lithuania, set to be fully operational by 2027. According to him, potential contributions could primarily include tanks and armored vehicles.

During a press conference summarizing Rheinmetall’s performance in 2024, Papperger reported record revenue, with an annual turnover of €9.8 billion. He highlighted the company’s strong ties with Ukraine, stating that Rheinmetall has become a key industrial partner. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, the company has received approximately €6 billion in orders related to Ukraine.
Papperger also noted that Rheinmetall maintains regular communication with its Ukrainian partners, holding weekly discussions on cooperation and supply efforts.
Previously, it was reported that Rheinmetall will establish a repair center in Ukraine for German-made tanks and artillery.
