Germany will finance the production of 15,000 Ukrainian-made STRILA interceptor drones for units of Ukraine’s National Guard, according to European Pravda on March 23.
Ukrainian outlet reported, citing the German Embassy in Ukraine, that the drones will be delivered under a recently signed multimillion-dollar agreement.
The package also includes training for National Guard units, logistics support, and further development of unmanned systems.

STRILA is designed to engage fast and maneuverable aerial targets, including Shahed-type combat drones.
Production will be expanded through a collaboration between the German company Quantum Systems and the Ukrainian manufacturer WIY Drones, which specializes in unmanned systems development.

The German Embassy in Ukraine noted that the National Guard will receive modern Ukrainian-made STRILA interceptor drones financed by the German government under the new agreement.
European Pravda reported that the system is being produced in Ukraine to ensure faster delivery to the battlefield.
The investment also comes as Ukraine’s interceptor drones are already delivering significant results on the battlefield.

Ukraine’s interceptor drones destroyed more than 1,500 Russian UAVs in February, according to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Syrskyi reported that Ukrainian interceptor crews flew about 6,300 sorties over the month, maintaining effectiveness despite harsher weather and persistent shortages of weapons.
He noted that in and around Kyiv, interceptor drones accounted for more than 70 percent of successful hits against Shahed-type attack drones in February.
Syrskyi also stated he is personally overseeing projects to strengthen anti-drone protection for key regional administrative centers, alongside work to modernize army aviation helicopters for counter-Shahed missions.
