Germany Officially Allows Ukraine to Attack Inside Russia, Following the US

Germany has officially authorized Ukraine to use German-supplied weapons against bordering Russian territory near Kharkiv, according to government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit. This move aligns Germany’s position more closely with that of the US.

Hebestreit confirmed that Germany and Ukraine have reached an agreement. “Weapons we’ve supplied will be used in accordance with international law,” he stated. He further noted Russia’s recent escalation, particularly in the Kharkiv region, where attacks have been launched from near the border. “We all agree that Ukraine has the right to defend itself from these attacks under international law,” Hebestreit concluded.

Earlier on May 31, Serhii Nykyforov, the press secretary of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, came out with an official statement, confirming that Ukraine has received permission from the United States to use American weapons for strikes on Russian territory with restrictions.
