Germany Updates Military Aid Package to Ukraine With Cheetah Anti-Aircraft Systems and More Drones

Germany has updated its list of military aid delivered to Ukraine over the past four weeks, according to an official report published on the German government’s website on March 17.

The latest military support package includes a wide range of equipment, weaponry, and supplies, reinforcing Ukraine’s defensive and offensive capabilities.

Combat Vehicles & Equipment:

  • 3 Cheetah anti-aircraft systems;

  • 24 FFG MRAP-class armored vehicles;

  • 2 WiSENT 1 mine-clearing vehicles;

  • 2 border patrol vehicles.

Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drones):

  • 50 Vector drones;

  • 30 GEREON RCS drones.

Ammunition & Firearms:

  • 10,000 rounds of 35mm ammunition for Cheetah (Gepard) anti-aircraft systems;

  • 1,340 HK416 assault rifles;

  • 95 MK 556 assault rifles;

  • 8,000 120mm mortar shells;

  • 2,000 122mm artillery shells;

  • 5,000 155mm artillery shells.

Other Military Equipment:

  • 30 drone detection systems;

  • 2 mine plows;

  • 100 portable demining systems (H-PEMBS);

  • 255 infrared binoculars;

  • 556 laser rangefinders;

  • 487,000 medical kits.

Earlier, Friedrich Merz, the leader of Germany’s center-right CDU/CSU alliance and the frontrunner to become the country’s next chancellor, was pushing for a $3.2 billion (€3 billion) defense aid package for Ukraine to be approved before the current parliament is dissolved.
