Germany’s ARX Robotics to Deliver Additional GEREON Unmanned Systems for Ukraine’s Frontline Operations

Germany’s ARX Robotics has secured a new large-scale contract to deliver additional GEREON unmanned ground systems to Ukraine, further expanding the fleet already operating on the front since early 2025.

According to Militarnyi on November 18, the GEREON platforms are used for battlefield logistics, reconnaissance, and other frontline missions. Under the new agreement, all incoming systems will be integrated into a single network through the Mithra OS operating system, allowing units to coordinate movements, react quickly to threats, and manage equipment more efficiently.

ARX has also shifted part of its manufacturing to Ukraine and brought local suppliers into the production chain — a move that speeds up deliveries and supports the development of Ukraine’s own defense industry.

“Production at our Ukrainian factory and cooperation with local partners accelerate integration into the army and ensure operational stability. We are building capabilities and expertise in Ukraine that will remain valuable even after the contract is fulfilled,” said ARX Ukraine CEO Ihor Kornilov, as reported by Militarnyi.

ARX Robotics is one of Europe’s leading defense-tech developers. The company produces the GEREON-RCS family of unmanned ground platforms and Mithra OS, an AI-enabled operating system designed to integrate autonomous and existing military systems, according to Militarnyi. ARX focuses on modernizing land forces and advancing next-generation autonomous technologies.

Earlier, Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warned that Russia could regain the ability to launch an attack on NATO’s eastern flank as soon as 2028.

Pistorius explained that while military experts and intelligence agencies had previously projected that Russia might be capable of launching an assault on a NATO member from 2029 onward, recent assessments have raised concerns, with some indicating that this window could open as early as 2028.
