“He’s Really Let Me Down“: Trump Says Putin Failed Him on Ukraine Peace Efforts

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has “let down” US President Donald Trump on the issue of resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Trump made the statement during a press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on September 18.
The US president once again repeated his claim that he had ended seven wars and insisted that the Russian war in Ukraine should become the eighth.
At the same time, Trump acknowledged that the war he believed would be the easiest to resolve thanks to his personal relationship with Putin has turned out to be the most difficult.

“The one [war] that I thought would be easiest because of my relationship with President Putin, but he`s let me down. He`s really let me down. There`s gonna be Russia and Ukraine. We will see how that turns out,” Trump stressed.
He also stated that if oil prices were to fall, Putin would have no choice but to end the war.
US President added that “it`s gonna get done right” and the war between Russia and Ukraine will be over.
Earlier, Donald Trump for the first time publicly called Russia the aggressor in its war against Ukraine, marking a potential shift toward a tougher stance on Moscow.
Speaking on September 14, Trump referred to battlefield losses, stating: “8,000 soldiers have died this week, from both countries. Some more from Russia, but when you’re the aggressor, you lose more.”
