IKEA Completes Russian Exit, Sells Key Warehouse in Moscow Region
The Swedish company Ingka Group, owner of the home goods brand IKEA, has sold its last asset in Russia—a warehouse in Yesipovo, near Moscow. This was reported by Radio Svoboda on Friday, November 8.
Businessman Robert Uzilov, who already owns several similar facilities, has purchased the warehouse. A representative confirmed the acquisition to reporters. Experts estimate the warehouse's value at around 18 billion rubles (approximately $184 million).
Ingka Group opened the warehouse in 2003, gradually increasing its area to 18 hectares. The center served all of the retailer's stores, and the company's CEO called it "the key to IKEA's development in Russia."
In response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, IKEA suspended operations in the Russian Federation, and during 2023 sold all its main assets.
