Inside Pokrovsk’s Urban War: Ukraine’s “Skelya” Regiment Clears Russians Street by Street

Ukrainian assault units from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelya” are holding blocking lines, clearing Russian positions, and countering daily attacks inside Pokrovsk, according to new battlefield footage released by Ukraine’s General Staff on November 13.
The video shows Ukrainian assault groups and reinforcement teams operating across multiple sectors of the city to stop Russian forces from gaining footholds and to secure key logistics routes.
Fighters from the regiment’s 1st Assault Battalion reportedly cleared a fortified Russian strongpoint in the northern part of Pokrovsk, securing what the military described as a strategically important route into the city.
Other assault groups are working along the railway area, where Ukrainian forces are attempting to merge and reinforce existing defensive lines. Additional units from the regiment are conducting clearance operations in the western sector of the city and near one of Pokrovsk’s main entrances.
The regiment says its fighters are also holding defensive positions inside an administrative building in central Pokrovsk, repelling repeated Russian attempts to storm the site.
Ukrainian assault teams continue close-range combat in the northern districts of the city, where fighting remains intense. According to the unit, Ukrainian forces are eliminating 20 to 50 Russian soldiers every day in close-quarters firefights.

A separate video released yesterday showed small “Skelya” assault groups clearing residential streets, driving Russian troops from buildings while coordinating movements with drone operators.
The General Staff reported that Ukrainian defenders stopped 81 Russian attacks on the Pokrovsk axis in the past 24 hours alone, underscoring the scale of the ongoing assault.
Earlier, Ukrainian armored units entered combat with Russian troops in the city of Rodynske, Donetsk region, as Moscow’s forces continue attempts to seize the area critical for logistics along the Pokrovsk axis.
