Key Russian Military Locomotive Destroyed in St. Petersburg Depot Fire, Video

A locomotive critical to Russian military logistics was destroyed on January 18, 2025, in the Ruchyi tram depot, located in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The 3M62U locomotive, used to transport weapons, ammunition, and military equipment, has been deemed irreparable.

The incident, reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of Ukraine, resulted in the complete destruction of the locomotive’s control systems. The fire effectively rendered the locomotive, which supported Russia’s military operations, beyond recovery.

Earlier, two communication towers near Krasnodar were set on fire by local resistance groups, according to HUR. The operation, carried out on January 17.
