Ukrainian partisan movement ATESH claims to have conducted a reconnaissance operation inside a Russian air defense unit located near St. Petersburg.

The group reported the infiltration of the 1488th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, military unit No. 03218, based near the settlement of Reshetnikovo in the Leningrad region.

According to ATESH movement, Ukrainian agents managed to access the facility’s perimeter and collect detailed intelligence on the regiment’s structure and equipment.

“Penetrating a base that was supposed to be well protected proves that there are no inaccessible objects for ATESH,” representatives of the movement stated.

The partisans reported surveying the positions of the S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile system, its command post, radar stations, as well as obtaining schedules of combat duty and patrol routes.

The 1488th regiment is considered a key element of the Russian air defense network responsible for protecting St. Petersburg and critical infrastructure across the northwest region of Russia.

ATESH added that all collected intelligence had been transferred to Ukraine’s Defense Forces for operational use.

Earlier, ATESH partisans reported large-scale failures in Russian air-defense systems on the Zaporizhzhia front, citing sanctions, production defects, and Ukrainian strikes on repair facilities as key causes.

The group said many Tor launchers had to be towed by tractors due to mechanical breakdowns, leaving them exposed to precision attacks by Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
