The Kremlin has revealed the list of 29 foreign leaders who will attend the Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9, Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, announced on May 6, according to Russian state-run agencies.

The leaders set to attend include those from Zimbabwe, China, Cuba, Laos, Mongolia, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, South Ossetia, Myanmar, Palestine, Serbia, and Slovakia. Also confirmed are leaders from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Congo, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Burkina Faso, Vietnam, Guinea-Bissau, Egypt, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, Venezuela, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Additionally, military personnel from 13 countries will march through Red Square during the parade, with troops from Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Belarus, Egypt, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan set to participate.

Representatives from the defense ministries of 31 countries will also be present at the event, Ushakov stated.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on May 3 that Ukraine could not guarantee the safety of foreign representatives attending the parade in Moscow.

“Our position is very simple towards all countries that went or are going on May 9: we cannot be responsible for what is happening on the territory of the Russian Federation. They provide you with security, and therefore we will not give you any guarantees,” Zelenskyy said.
