Ukrainian defense forces have liberated the village of Kucheriv Yar in Donetsk region, according to prm.ua on October 22. The report cites a video released by the 132nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the Air Assault Forces showing Ukrainian troops raising the national flag over the settlement after intense fighting.

Kucheriv Yar, located about 40 kilometers from Pokrovsk, had been occupied by Russian troops since August 11, during their advance toward Dobropillia.

The published footage shows damaged buildings and Ukrainian soldiers unfurling the national flag atop a destroyed structure, confirming the return of control to Ukrainian forces.

According to The General Staff operation was carried out by reconnaissance and assault units operating on the Pokrovsk axis, one of the most active sectors of the front.

The General Staff reported that “the exchange fund for our state has been significantly replenished—several dozen Russian soldiers were taken prisoner.”

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine’s intelligence intercepted radio communications in which a Russian field commander ordered troops to fire on civilians trying to leave the combat zone near Pokrovsk.
