Kyiv Apartment Block Rocked by Russian Drone Attack—Eight Injured, Including Three-Year-Old-Girl

Eight people, including a three-year-old girl, were injured in a Russian drone strike on Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district overnight, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported on July 28.
“As a result of the attack by this single drone in the Darnytskyi district, we currently have eight casualties, four of whom have been hospitalized. Among them is a three-year-old girl with a laceration who is receiving medical assistance,” he wrote.
This is how Putin responds to calls to end the war and sit at the negotiating table. Russian air attacks continue, already hitting civilian infrastructure, homes, and people — including in Kyiv.

The attack, carried out with Iranian-made Shahed drones, caused a shockwave that shattered windows from the 6th to 11th floors of a high-rise apartment building. Several cars parked in the courtyard were also damaged.
All of the victims sustained shrapnel injuries. The three-year-old girl was diagnosed with lacerations to her foot. Emergency services transported the wounded to local hospitals.

“Investigative and operational teams, as well as bomb disposal units, are working at the scene,” the Ukrainian National Police added. “Law enforcement is documenting yet another war crime committed by the aggressor.”
The drone strike was part of a larger Russian aerial assault on Ukraine on the night of July 28. Explosions were reported across Kyiv, with additional strikes reported in Kropyvnytskyi, where emergency responders were dispatched following a suspected drone attack, according to the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration.

A fire broke out in the city, and the blast wave damaged the premises of the regional philharmonic hall. According to preliminary reports, no injuries were reported.
In addition, the Khmelnytskyi region was under enemy attack, with explosions heard several times during the night in Starokostiantyniv.
Earlier, Russia launched a large-scale combined aerial assault on multiple regions of Ukraine overnight on July 25–26, resulting in civilian casualties, widespread fires, and significant infrastructure damage.
The Dnipropetrovsk region was the main target of the attack, which included ballistic and cruise missiles, guided bombs, and more than 200 drones.
