Kyiv Region and Utah Forge Strategic Alliance with Historic Memorandum
Kyiv Region and the American state of Utah have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance cooperation across various sectors. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration (OVА), announced the agreement, highlighting its significance as the second MOU between Kyiv Region and a US state in history. Ukrainian Ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, signed the MOU with Utah Governor Spencer Cox, aiming to expand collaboration between the two regions.
The MOU outlines areas of cooperation including economics, energy, aerospace and defense industries, software and information technologies, agriculture, education, tourism, healthcare, environment, science and technology, as well as arts, culture, and humanitarian efforts.
Kravchenko emphasized the potential benefits of the partnership, such as knowledge exchange, investment attraction, increased trade volumes, and job creation. He noted that cooperation with Utah holds promise for both sides, fostering higher living standards, business development, and the implementation of humanitarian and social projects.
Utah is home to approximately 4,000 Ukrainians, including 2,500 refugees, underscoring the personal connections and community ties that could further strengthen bilateral relations.
