South Korean electronics maker LG has applied to Russia’s federal intellectual property service to register the “Express Fill” brand in Russia, according to Moscow 24 on January 28.

Moscow 24, citing Rospatent  data, said the filing covers categories that include household appliances, kitchen equipment, and devices for industrial production.

The outlet also cited earlier trademark activity by LG in Russia, including the “Nano Detail Enhancer” mark filed in November 2025 and registered in January 2026, and a January 16, 2026 application for “Hyper Radiant Color Tech” in a class that includes software.

LG said on March 19, 2022 it was suspending all shipments to Russia.

Some Western firms are taking steps to position for a possible return to Russia as US-led peace efforts over Ukraine advance, including moves involving energy and consumer brands.

ExxonMobil, as one example, is the company that held talks about regaining a stake in the Sakhalin-1 project after the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, signed a decree that could open a path for the US company to restore its position

“Following their meeting, Putin said Russia and the US could do more business together. “We look forward to dealing,” Trump said.”

In the first weeks after Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, companies across consumer, industrial, and services sectors announced shutdowns and suspensions, including retailers closing stores amid sanctions and supply disruptions.

Yale School of Management’s Chief Executive Leadership Institute said that it had been tracking responses from more than 1,500 companies, and that over 1,000 had announced they were curtailing operations in Russia beyond what sanctions required.

Separately, the Kyiv School of Economics Institute said on January 8, 2025 that more than 160 international companies exited the Russian market in 2024 by liquidating or selling their businesses.

Earlier, it was reported that McDonald’s filed multiple trademark applications with Russia’s Federal Service for Intellectual Property to protect its brand rights, even after suspending operations following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
