Lithuania is set to transfer 4,500 drones worth $5.1 million (€5 million) to Ukraine this week, according to Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovilė Šakalienė on X on January 13.
“I’m glad to announce that Lithuania is sending Ukraine 4,500 drones worth €5 million this week,” Šakalienė wrote.
She also highlighted recent government measures aimed at streamlining aid delivery to Ukraine.
“At the latest Cabinet meeting, we approved an accelerated process for transferring state assets, reducing bureaucratic delays in providing assistance to Ukraine,” she added.
In a recent speech to military and government leaders, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined his goal to make the coming year a record-breaking period for developing and deploying drones and other vital military technologies.
Earlier, Ukraine received more than €150 million in funding for its defense industry from Denmark, France, and Lithuania.
