Ukraine Receives Over €150 Million to Strengthen Defense Industry from Denmark, France, and Lithuania
Ukraine has secured more than €150 million in funding for its defense industry from Denmark, France, and Lithuania, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov announced.
According to the minister’s statement, €111 million will be allocated for the implementation of agreements under cooperation between Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Strategic Industries, and Denmark’s Ministry of Defense. This funding will support the strengthening of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with domestically produced modern weaponry.
Additionally, €29 million in grants from the French government will be directed towards enhancing Ukraine’s security and defense capabilities.
As part of a memorandum between the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Strategic Industries, €10 million will be used to develop Ukraine’s defense-industrial sector.
The funds will primarily be invested in the production of missiles, deepstrike drones, and artillery systems. Minister Umerov expressed gratitude to Ukraine’s international partners for their significant contribution to strengthening the country’s defense capacity.
Earlier on December 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially introduced the first batch of Peklo rocket drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Armed Forces Day. The domestically produced drones, featuring a 700 km strike range and 700 km/h speed, have already been successfully used five times.
