French President Emmanuel Macron stated that American anger should be directed solely at Russian leader Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that Paris continues to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Macron made the remarks following Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine on April 24, as reported by BFMTV.

Macron asserted that Russia is the aggressor and that “American anger should be directed at only one person: President Putin.”

He also reaffirmed France’s unwavering stance, stressing that it will continue to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in line with international law.

“We will continue to defend the right of the Ukrainian people to live in peace on their territory and within their internationally recognized borders,” Macron added.

Additionally, the French President called on Putin to “stop lying.”

“He says 'I want peace' and yet he continues to bomb and kill lives in Ukraine,” Macron said.

Additionally, The Guardian reported that during a visit to Madagascar, Macron told reporters that it is unreasonable to expect Zelenskyy to accept ceasefire terms while Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, is under bombardment.
