Milrem Robotics to Deliver Over 200 Combat Robots in Ukraine by Year-End

According to Milrem Robotics, a subsidiary of EDGE Group, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been utilizing THeMIS robotic platforms since 2022. At least 15 of these platforms are currently supporting various military operations, including logistics, casualty evacuation, and reconnaissance.
Defense Express, citing Paul Clayton, Director of Industrial Partnerships at Milrem Robotics, reports that the company is now expanding its range of robotic platforms deployed in Ukraine. The THeMIS variants include anti-tank, reconnaissance, and engineering configurations.
Clayton further stated that Milrem Robotics aims to have over 200 unmanned ground vehicles operational in Ukraine by the end of the year. These systems are expected to perform intelligence-gathering and combat support tasks. However, specific details regarding the exact models and delivery schedules remain undisclosed.

Milrem Robotics has significantly increased its production capacity, previously announcing a fivefold expansion with the capability to manufacture over 500 platforms annually. The company’s ability to fulfill this objective will depend on production schedules and the prioritization of orders, with Ukraine likely being a key recipient.
The THeMIS platforms delivered to Ukraine have been used for medical evacuation, cargo transportation, and mine clearance operations. Additionally, in 2023, Milrem Robotics signed an agreement with Ukroboronprom to develop next-generation robotic defense systems, incorporating operational insights from the battlefield in Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Armed Forces carried out their first fully unmanned ground attack near Lyptsi, Kharkiv region, using UGVs and FPV drones. The operation, conducted by the National Guard’s ‘Khartia’ Brigade, eliminated Russian positions without infantry involvement, highlighting Ukraine’s growing use of robotic systems in combat.
