Netherlands Pledges $23 Million to Support Ukraine’s Air Defense and Cybersecurity

The Netherlands will contribute an additional $23 million to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense systems and cyber resilience, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp announced on X on December 4.

The announcement followed Veldkamp’s meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during a NATO-Ukraine Council meeting.
Veldkamp emphasized the need for NATO and its allies to address third countries aiding Russia’s war effort. “This demands a more robust and coordinated response from NATO and its Allies,” he wrote.
On December 2, the US unveiled a $725 million weapons package for Ukraine, with Stinger missiles, ammunition for HIMARS, 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells, drones, and landmines.
Earlier, Germany pledged to deliver a new military aid package worth $684 million (€650 million) to Ukraine by the end of the year, including 2 advanced IRIS-T air defense systems, 10 Leopard 1 tanks, 60 M84 and M80 tanks, and infantry fighting vehicles, and combat drones.
