An artillery division of Ukraine’s 144th SSO center has taken delivery of Ukrainian-made 2S22 “Bohdana” self-propelled howitzers mounted on a new 6×6 wheeled chassis for combat missions on the Pokrovsk front in Donetsk region, Militarnyi reported on November 16.

According to a video released by the SSO, the upgraded systems have been fielded by an artillery crew whose commander, with the call sign “Jack,” operates on the Pokrovsk axis in eastern Ukraine.

The unit previously relied on a towed 152 mm Msta-B howitzer, but has now switched to the self-propelled 155 mm Bohdana platform on a modern 6×6 chassis with an armored cabin.

The crew is shown using the system to support Ukrainian defenders around Pokrovsk, with SSO Command noting that Jack advanced from a rank-and-file soldier to gun commander over the course of a year of service in the 144th center’s artillery division.

The footage shows the Bohdana on a new 6×6 wheeled chassis with a revised armored cab and a fabric anti-drone screen stretched around the gun area to reduce vulnerability to FPV suicide drones.

The 2S22 Bohdana is a domestically designed wheeled self-propelled howitzer that fires NATO-standard 155 mm ammunition. Later variants incorporate a 52-caliber barrel, ballistic radar, and improved loading systems.

The appearance of the latest 6×6 variant in a Special Operations Forces artillery unit on the Pokrovsk front indicates that these higher-end versions are now entering frontline service, enhancing the mobility and survivability of Ukrainian long-range firepower in one of the most contested sectors of the eastern front.

Earlier, it was reported that a Ukrainian defense manufacturer disclosed updated information on the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled howitzer, confirming a unit price of about $3.25 million depending on the chassis and noting that monthly output has exceeded 20 systems.
