Norway's F-35s Scramble to Defend Polish Airspace Amid Russian Airstrikes on Ukraine

For the first time, two Norwegian F-35 fighter jets were deployed to protect Polish airspace on January 15 in response to Russian aircraft involved in attacks on Ukraine, according to NATO Air Command.
The incident marked the first operational scramble by Norwegian jets to actively defend Poland’s skies.

“Yesterday, two Norwegian F-35s stationed in Poland were launched in response to a significant number of Russian aircraft,” the statement read.
Previously, it was reported that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has stated that Russia intended to carry out terrorist attacks not only against Poland but also targeting airlines globally.
