The move followed Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s announcement that Poland will invoke Article 4 of NATO’s founding treaty, which calls for urgent allied consultations when a member’s security or territorial integrity is threatened.
According to Tusk, at least 19 airspace violations were recorded overnight. Poland’s Interior Ministry reported that seven downed drones and fragments of a missile were found on Polish territory, including five drones that crashed in Lublin Voivodeship.

One drone struck a residential home in the village of Wyryki near the Belarusian border.
Belarus, meanwhile, attempted to downplay the incident. Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Muraveiko claimed that some drones had “lost their way,” while others were “destroyed by the republic’s air defense forces.”
Earlier, reports emerged that the Kremlin had been preparing for such cross-border attacks since at least July.
